Electric toothbrushes
Many patients ask, "Is an electric toothbrush better than a handheld toothbrush?"
Not necessarily, it depends upon the user. Whether it is a regular toothbrush or an electric toothbrush, brushing is only successful if the toothbrush is positioned correctly. At your next visit, ask Dr. Lawson to give you a demonstration. Electric toothbrushes are wonderful for patients with gum disease, braces, and dexterity problems. Electric toothbrushes have also been shown to remove more surface stain, so coffee and tea drinkers and tobacco users may benefit from using them.
