Digital x-rays

Digital x-rays are taken in a manner similar to regular x-rays, only it is a sensor in the mouth rather than film.  There is a wire that connects the sensor to the computer, so your images show up on the monitor almost instantly.  This decreases the patient’s wait time in the chair, and allows the dentist to magnify images to show the patient areas of the mouth.  Digital x-rays are also beneficial because of less radiation exposure to the patient (versus regular x-rays).
